The Maine Council of Churches' Environmental Justice Program supports LD #1931, "An Act to Encourage Energy Independence for Maine.

We believe it (LD# 1931) creates some of the necessary building blocks for a Maine society to become environmentally and economically sustainable without dependence on fossil fuels. Maine Council of Churches speaks on behalf of 8 member denominations and 650 Maine churches, addressing this critical environmental issue.
