April 26, 2011 --  Executive Director Jill Saxby testified for MCC against several bills that would raise new barriers between our neighbors in need and public benefits programs like General Assistant, Temporary Aid For Needy Families and food assistance.  We also testified in favor of several bills that would establish better standards, data collection and consistency of administration for GA, would require the state to help people who qualify applied for federal Social Security Disability and establish a working group of advocacy organizations, administrators and a statewide ecumenical group such as MCC to study ways to improve General Assistance statewide.  April 26, 2011 testimony on GA bills -- letterhead.pdf
