About Us

The Maine Council of Churches was founded in 1938.  We consist of nine denominations, representing over 550 churches, and thousands of congregants in Maine. Our staff of 4 in Portland work with our project consultants, volunteers, and inter-religious and secular partners across the state of Maine and beyond, "Seeking Common Ground, Working for the Common Good.
